Major projects members of the Axia team have been involved with include:
M4 Smart Motorway
The M4 Smart Motorway project involved the installation of Intelligent Transportation Systems and associated infrastructure along the M4 Motorway, as well as upgrades to on and off ramps at Burnett Street, Coleman Street, Cumberland Highway, Prospect Highway and Mamre Road.
The scope included earthworks, pavements, stormwater drainage, public utility adjustments, noise walls adjustments, and landscaping.
Narellan Road Upgrade
This project involved the upgrade and widening of approximately 6km of the busy Narellan Road. The southbound on-ramp of the Hume Motorway was also upgraded as part of the works.
The scope included the construction and widening of road bridges, construction of shared path bridges, earthworks, relocation and construction of utility services, environmental management, pavement works, landscaping, lighting, and a range of ancillary works.
Sydney Airport – Northern Precinct
The Northern Airport Precinct Project was a design and construct contract to build a vehicle storage area, new four lane landside bridge, and an approach road from Airport Drive.
The landside bridge design evolved to become a 50m single span underslung curved box girder steel bridge with an integral concrete deck that will allow for B-Doubles and vehicles of any height. Design also allowed for bridge pedestrian and bicycle access.
Port Botany Terminal Three
The Port Botany Terminal 3 project involved constructing a new container terminal for Sydney International Container Terminal Limited, which is owned by Hutchison Port Holdings, the largest freight operator in the world.
The contract included construction of the civil works and associated services over a 46-hectare reclaimed area including approximately 100,000 m3 of concrete paving.
North West Rail Link
The North-West Rail Link contract included building eight new railway stations and associated car parks, installing tracks, signalling, mechanical and electrical systems, building and operating train stabling and maintenance facilities.
It also included upgrading and converting the existing section of railway between Epping and Chatswood to rapid transit configuration.
Old Wallgrove Road Upgrade
The project involved the upgrade and widening of Old Wallgrove Rd and Wallgrove Rd at Eastern Ck.
The scope also included construction and widening of road bridges, construction of shared path bridges, earthworks, relocation and construction of utility services, environmental management, pavement works, landscaping, lighting, and a range of ancillary works.
